Yumbles races past crowdfunding target.

Yumbles, a curated marketplace connecting food lovers with the UK’s best small batch independent food and drink producers has achieved its crowdfunding target of £170,000 in exchange for 4% equity. The campaign ran through UK based crowdfunding platform Crowdcube.

In an announcement this morning, Greek Cypriot founders Katie and Simos Kitiris said “We are delighted to announce that we are now 100% funded! Thank you to everyone who has invested so far – 215 brilliant investors and counting!”

The campaign has since gone into overfunding mode, currently achieving 105% funding and Simos has updated his announcement saying that overfunding will be used for additional marketing activities for growth as well as to accelerate the implementation of their technology roadmap where possible.

Yumbles has had a strong affiliation with Cyprus based accelerator IdeaCy, , run by Bank of Cyprus, with both Simos and Katie serving as entrepreneurs in residence for the past year and a half.

The Cube had the privilege of meeting these two founders during a recent visit to Nicosia.

We wish them every success!
